The Roydon MEP Process

From brief to clinical handover — one team, five stages. The engineers who design the systems are on site when they are commissioned.

01

Stage One: Brief & Scope Definition

Clinical brief, bed count, NABH targets and programme agreed in writing before design begins. MEP scope and design standards confirmed — Roydon project manager assigned as single point of contact.

  • Clinical brief review with medical planning team
  • MEP scope — discipline by discipline
  • Standards and NABH alignment confirmed
  • Programme milestones agreed
  • Preliminary MEP cost plan produced
  • Roydon project manager assigned
02

Stage Two: Engineering Design & Coordination

Detailed design — load calculations, equipment schedules, duct and pipe sizing, SLDs, medical gas layout. Reviewed with facilities and infection-control teams. 3D service coordination avoids clashes before fabrication.

  • HVAC load calculations and equipment schedules
  • MGPS pipeline design, sizing, pressure drops
  • Electrical SLD, panel schedules, cable sizing
  • Plumbing and fire protection design
  • 3D coordination — clash avoidance before fabrication
  • Design review with facilities and IPC teams
03

Stage Three: Site Execution & Installation

Fabrication and installation under our own engineers — no sub-bids. Coordinated with structural and civil programme. Daily site reports and ITPs track quality at every stage.

  • Ductwork fabrication and installation
  • Medical gas pipeline installation and purging
  • HT/LT electrical installation
  • Plumbing and fire protection installation
  • Daily site reports and progress tracking
  • ITP compliance at every stage
04

Stage Four:: Commissioning & Clinical Validation

Every system proved against clinical criteria before handover. Air balancing, pressure differentials, MGPS purity testing, electrical and fire system functional testing. All recorded in the commissioning pack.

  • HVAC air balancing — volume and pressure
  • OT pressure cascade and particle count
  • MGPS pressure, flow and purity testing
  • Electrical insulation, earth continuity
  • Fire system functional testing
  • Complete commissioning pack — NABH-ready
05

Stage Five: Handover & 24/7 Warranty

Clinical handover with complete O&M manuals, as-built drawings, equipment registers and NABH documentation. Post-handover 24/7 warranty — our engineers, our number. No escalations, no delays.

  • O&M manuals — all disciplines
  • As-built drawings — coordinated MEP
  • Equipment warranty register
  • NABH submission documentation pack
  • Staff training on MEP systems
  • 24/7 warranty — direct to our engineers
